Quartz Tungsten Halogen (QTH) lamps are a popular alternative to arc lamps. By comparison, QTH lamps have better output stability, do not produce strong UV light emission, do not have intense spectral emission lines in their output, and do not produce toxic ozone. These advantages over traditional arc lamps make QTH lamps preferable for radiometric and photometric applications as well as excitation sources of visible to NIR light.

Features
20 W Lamp Option
For users and applications that do not need the high intensity spectral output of larger QTH lamps, the 6319 is a low wattage alternative.
Two 50 W QTH Lamp Choices
Two different 50 W QTH lamps are offered. The 6332 is a short filament type QTH lamp. Short filament QTH lamps have better shock and vibration due to their compact construction and can be more useful for reimaging the filament onto a small input slit of a monochromator, for example. The 6337 is a long filament type QTH lamp. Long filament QTH lamps have an extended average lifetime.
100 W QTH Lamp Option
The 6333 is a 100 W QTH lamp for users that require a larger filament size and additional light output intensity.
150 W QTH Lamp Option
The 6346 is a 150 W QTH lamp for use in the fiber optic illuminator models 66088 and IQE-LIGHT-BIAS. It is the only QTH lamp offering with an integrated reflector, which makes it truly drop-in replaceable with no lamp alignment necessary.
250 W QTH Lamp Option
The 6334NS is a 250 W QTH lamp for use in the Tunable Light Sources and compatible with most Research QTH Lamp Housings. Due to its large power rating, this model cannot be used in the Q Series housings.
600 and 1000 W QTH Lamp Options
The 6336 600 W and 6317 1000 W QTH lamps are used with the high power Research QTH Sources and with lamp socket adapter 6392NS.
FEL Standard Lamp Offered
An FEL lamp is an ANSI standard 1000 W QTH lamp with a two pin base. The 6315 lamp is categorized as an FEL type.
Open Air Mount Option for Select Lamps
For particular QTH lamps, rod mounting is available instead of mounting inside the usual lamp housing setup. Rod mounts are open-air holders that provide a low cost alternative to lamp housings. Additional benefits when using a rod mount include the ability to place the lamp closer to the sample or desired area of illumination and the option of mounting the lamp horizontally () or vertically (). Users that need to collimate and focus the light output of the QTH lamp can select the appropriate lens setup from Newport's line of Lenses.
