The DL225 Delay Line Stage utilizes FEM-optimized extruded aluminum body to avoid bending effects or deflection under load. The recirculating ball bearing slides provide excellent payload capabilities, long life, smooth and low noise motion over 225 mm.
Unlike screw driven stages, the DL’s employ centered, high efficiency 3-phase, synchronous ironless linear motor as the driving element. Such drive system is absolutely non-contact and has the advantage of higher speed, high acceleration and high system responsiveness, as well as no wear associated with motor brushes or drive screws. Because of the fully integrated linear motor, the DL series stages are shorter than a comparable screw driven stage.
Precision position feedback is provided by a very repeatable linear scale with encoder signals being interpolated to nanometer resolution by Newport motion controller, providing outstanding position sensitivity, repeatability, and stability. To avoid additional electronics or mechanics use and improve reliability and accuracy, home position is incorporated on the same scale. Thus, the DL series stages are the optimum solution for space constrained applications that require high-throughput, high reliability, and ultra-quiet operation with a Single pass delay of 1.5 ns and MIM of 0.5 fs. The DL-PS power supply to be ordered separately
Easy Setup for Ultrafast Spectroscopy Applications
The DL family of stages is optimized for ultrafast spectroscopy applications that require repeatable and precise delays (0.5 fs). The controller is included with the stage, and a user-friendly GUI can be downloaded. Three travel versions and seven beam kits are available.
Delay Line Software and GUI
The DL controller GUI is a user-friendly way to interact with the stages. It can be used to initiate absolute and relative position moves, user-defined scan sequences, cycling and jogging movement. Both the position of the stage (in mm) and amount of delay (in psec) are displayed in the GUI. The software is compatible with Windows 7 and higher.
75 nm Minimum Incremental Motion (MIM)
Precision position feedback is provided by a linear glass scale encoder mounted inside the stage. The encoder signals are interpolated by an integrated motion controller with nanometer resolution for outstanding position sensitivity, repeatability and stability.
Settling Time
To ensure position stability in the amount of delay, the step-and-settle time for DL stages is less than 0.2 sec for short moves.
Delay Line Beam Kits
DL225 stage with DL-BKIT4U-S-M delay line kit
To facilitate setup, beam kits consisting of retroreflectors, mirrors, mounts, and other optomechanical parts, are available to suit various wavelengths and delay line configurations. Single, double and quadruple-pass versions are offered.
Flatness
The DL stage has been designed to be mounted on standard breadboards (with a 0.2 mm flatness). Pads minimize the effect of the table on the pitch, yaw and roll performance of the stage. To reach the specifications stated, stages must be fixed on a plane surface with a flatness of 5 μm with washer under each fixing screw head (max. tightening torque for mounting screws: 3 Nm).
Clamps
Clamps allow for locating the stage where the standard hole pattern is not available. Suggested base clamps are BC-5 and BC-6.
